Abstract:
Disclosed is a high-voltage discharge lamp (100) wherein formation of cracks is minimized even under a high mercury vapor pressure. The high-voltage discharge lamp (100) is configured in such a way that the high-voltage discharge lamp (100) is provided with a glass arc tube (102) comprising an arc portion (103) which has a discharge space therein and a sealing portion (104) so provided as to be continuous with the arc portion (103) and a pair of electrodes (101) having one end opposedly disposed in the discharge space and the other end connected to a metal foil (105) and buried in the sealing portion (104) and that at least one projection (101c) is formed on the buried section of each of the paired electrodes (101).
