Abstract:
The present invention is a high voltage generator comprising a Cockcroft-Walton circuit that applies a potential difference to a load (2) upon receiving a supply of AC power from an AC power source (1), wherein three or more substrates are spaced apart from each other in the thickness direction. Flat-plate-shaped capacitors (C1-1 to C6-2) are mounted on each of the substrates. Diodes (D1 to D6) are connected between each of the substrates. Cutouts (3) are formed on those substrates among the three or more substrates that are not at the two ends. The diodes (D1 to D6) are disposed at the positions of the cutouts (3). A compact, high productivity high-voltage generator is thereby provided.
