Abstract:
The invention provides a high strength discharge lamp with a lamp cap, which has a simple and firm structure, higher thermal stability, low glare and high efficiency. The discharge lamp comprises an arc tube which filled with ionized substances. The arc tube comprises a bulbous or ellipsoidal portion. Surrounding the arc tube is a tubular shroud, the shroud has an enlarged portion which is similar to the bulbous or ellipsoidal portion disposed about the bulbous portion of the arc tube The distance between the shroud and the outer wall of the arc tube is even, so that it makes the temperature of the arc tube more even, and thermal stability and photoelectric parameter of the lamp are improved. The invention can reduce the times of the reflection which occurred between the inner wall of the shroud and the outer wall of the arc tube, thereby more light are directly radiated out of the shroud and the invention can also reduce the occurance of veilling glare.
