Abstract:
[Problem] To simplify assembly work in a hinge device that can reduce the burden of handling a rotary object and that can keep the rotary object stationary at an arbitrary rotational position. [Solution] A hinge device 5 comprises: a first hinge body 10 that is fixed to a stationary object 2; a second hinge body 20 that is fixed to a rotary object 3; rotational coupling means 30L, 30R that couple the hinge bodies 10, 20 together; an assist torque application means 7 that applies, to the second hinge body 20, assist torque toward a vertical upright position (reference rotational position); and a frictional resistance application means 40 that keeps the rotary object 3 stationary at an arbitrary rotational position. The assist torque application means 7 includes: a biasing mechanism 7A provided on the first hinge body 10 and located away from the rotational coupling means 30L, 30R; and an actuation means 100 provided on the second hinge body 20. The actuation means 100 acts on a coil spring 75 of the biasing mechanism 7A to twist the coil spring 75, causing generation of assist torque.
