Abstract:
Disclosed are a holding device for an item to be measured, a holding device for living organisms and an optical measuring device which allow smooth measurement when optical tomographic information is obtained with a living organism as the item to be measured. A specimen holder (64) which is used as the holding device for an item to be measured is formed from a material which has optical propagation properties while scattering near infrared light and fluorescent light isotropically. In addition, the specimen holder (64) can be divided into block (66) and block (68) at faces containing the axial centre. The blocks (66, 68) are provided with concave parts (66A, 68A) which match the outer shape and size of the specimen. The specimen (18) is accommodated in such a way that the epidermis is intimately in contact with the cavity which is formed by these concave parts (66A, 68A). In this way, the specimen holder (64) holds the specimen (18) in such a state that the original shape of the specimen (18) and the positions of the internal organs thereof are maintained during measurement.
