Title:
HOLLOW, VECTORIAL, AND SUPPORTIVE MULTI-FUNCTIONAL PROTECTION DEVICE FOR MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGERY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/199307
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a hollow, vectorial, and supportive multi-functional protection device for a minimally invasive surgery, which can be used in a minimally invasive surgery on a cavity or lumen, such as the oral cavity, throat, digestive tract, respiratory tract, chest cavity, and abdominal cavity, etc. A protection head (4) of the protection device comprises petals having a degree of openness of which is adjusted by an inner cylindrical axial movement mechanism (1) to protect a surgical region, and the size of the surgical region being freely adjustable. The protection head (4) can also be rotated outwards by means of a pitching mechanism, increasing a surgical field, and thus achieving vectorial adjustment of the protection head (4) and the petals. That is, the protection head (4) and the petals can be adjusted in terms of direction, force and dimension as desired. The hollow, vectorial, and supportive multi-functional protection device is also configured with a gas and liquid transport passage (20) and an illuminating unit on the petals, thus achieving multiple functions of illumination, rinsing, drug administration, cleaning, disinfection, hemostasis, and can support other surgical tools such as a laser scalpel, etc. Trauma to a surgical region can be further reduced by disposing, among other tools, an elastic membrane (11, 18) between the protection head (4) and an outer casing (3) and/or among the petals.
