Abstract:
Provided is a humidifier with which the necessary and sufficient humidification performance can be achieved and energy can be conserved.
A humidification filter unit (3) is exposed to water and rotates to promote the absorption of water. When the amount of time from the stopping to the restarting of the humidification operation is long and the amount of absorbed water is insufficient, the humidification filter unit (3) rotates continuously for a prescribed period of time when the humidification operation restarts, and then rotates intermittently. On the other hand, when the amount of time from the stopping to the restarting of the humidification operation is short and the amount of absorbed water is sufficient, the humidification filter unit (3) rotates intermittently during the humidification operation. The amount of time that the rotation of the humidification filter unit (3) is stopped for each intermittent rotation is set in accordance with the amount of blowing of a blower fan (2). Consequently, it is possible to control the insufficient absorption of water and the excessive absorption of water by the humidification filter unit (3), so the necessary and sufficient humidification performance can be achieved. Furthermore, more energy can be conserved with the humidification filter unit (3) than when it is rotated continuously.
