Abstract:
A hydrogel comprising a polymeric matrix and, contained therein, water and a poly(vinylsulfonic acid)-based polymer, wherein the polymeric matrix comprises a copolymer of a monofunctional monomer having one ethylenically unsaturated group with a polyfunctional monomer having two to six, ethylenically unsaturated groups, the copolymer having a hydrophilic group bonded to the main chain thereof, the polymeric matrix is contained in an amount of 2-80 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the hydrogel, the copolymer containing a polymer derived from the polyfunctional monomer in an amount of 0.1-5 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the copolymer, and the poly(vinylsulfonic acid)-based polymer is contained in an amount of 0.1-150 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the polymeric matrix and has a weight-average molecular weight of 200,000-3,000,000.
