Abstract:
This hydrogen generation system (200) comprises an electrochemical device (100), a gas supply unit (202), a power source (203), and a controller (205). The electrochemical device (100) comprises an anode (105), a cathode (106), and an electrolyte membrane (104) disposed between the anode (105) and the cathode (106), and is configured such that a hydrogen-containing gas is supplied to the anode (105) and a current is made to flow in a predetermined direction between the anode (105) and the cathode (106) to thereby generate hydrogen gas at the cathode (106) of a higher hydrogen purity than that of the hydrogen-containing gas. The controller (205) is configured so as to control the power source (203) so as to cause the amount of the current to rise as the operation time of the electrochemical device (100) becomes longer.
