The invention relates to a hydrostatic actuator (1) and to an arrangement for fastening the hydrostatic actuator to an accommodating component, comprising a master cylinder (31), which contains a housing (2) and a piston (34), which can be moved axially in the housing and which acts on a pressure chamber (33) filled with pressure medium and which is driven by a rotationally driving electric motor (23) having a stator (24) and a rotor by means of a planetary gear train (26) that converts the rotational drive into an axial motion. In order to be able to produce such a hydrostatic actuator requiring a small packaging space in a low-cost manner and with better quality, the support of the planetary gear train is simplified, and the cooling and shielding of an electronic controller that is optionally present and the pressure behavior of said electronic controller are improved.
