Abstract:
The present invention makes one sheet of IC card usable for the authentication of one or more services. A set of authentication seeds common to one or more services and a common encryption key are stored in the authentication seed 141 of FeRAM 14 of an IC card 1. The set of authentication seeds common to one or more services and the common encryption key are copied from the authentication seed 141 to an arithmetic stack 131 and used for one-time mutual authentication between the IC card and a server device. The authentication seed 141 also includes hidden fixed information that is never transmitted from the IC card 1 to the server device and a one-time authenticator is created on the basis of this hidden fixed information, so that there is no possibility of a client or a server being spoofed.
