Title:
ILLUMINATED COUNTRY DESIGNATION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2001/098108
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Illuminated country designation includes front illuminated plate with double-sided self-adhesive tape and printed country designation. It is then tied to the casing. Rubber clamp serving as holder for screw socket with electric bulb is then glued onto the back side of the casing. Electric bulb is introduced through the rubber clamp into the casing. This operation is followed by connection of screw socket contacts with conductor cramps connected to + and - pole and the other loose end of the conductor with cramps is connected to the power source.

8) PATENT REQUIREMENTS
1. Illuminated country designations responds to international traffics norms by its form and dimensions.
2. Illuminated country designations as per requirement 1. consists of the illuminazed part and casing made of two types plastics.
3. Illuminated country designation as per requirement 2. is made of disperse milky white plastics.
4. Illuminated country designation as per requirement 2. consists of the casing made of non transparent dark colour plastics that does not let light pass trough.
5. Electrical connection of country designation is in parallel using position lights as power source.
6. Product is fixed to the window by double sided self adhesive tape and is 23 mm removed from the window, which allows prevention of vibration effect in relation to the product fixed to the window.
Description:
ILLUMINATED COUNTRY DESIGNATION DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION 1) INVENTION RELATION AREA This invention is related to the motor industry exclusively as a non obligatory accessory having decorative and information element.

2) TECHNICAL PROBLEM Technical problem of this invention is not very relevant since, from the technical point of view, it is not difficult to produce and make industrially commercialised as its purpose is general for all car owners.

3) TECHNICAL SITUATION As far as I know there is no no commercialised way of using illuminated country designations. Only stickers are being used for this purpose, but as they are usually fixed to the exterior of the rear windscreen they are gradually being damaged due to climatic factors.

4) DESCRIPTION OF NATURE OF THE INVENTION Primary objective of the invention aims at improvement of visibility of country designation during the diminished visibility driving conditions. Secondary objective of the invention is multiple. Besides better visibility at night, decorative and informative illuminated country designation is installed in the lower left or right corner in the interior of the windscreen, which prevents its removal and provides protection against climatic influence. Additionally, its dimensions are determined in accordance with European standards prescribed for country designations (form of ellipse of the following dimensions 17,5 cm x 11,5 cm) since it is well known that European national automobile association recognise the designations of the above mentioned dimensions.

Description of invention: Illuminated country designation is made of several types of plastics and consists of the visible front part made of disperse milky white plastic in the form of ellipse having standard dimensions with printed inscription of a country designation (HR etc); plastic casing also in the form of hollow ellipse with hole on top of the casing providing for installation of screw socket with electric bulb; rubber clasp glued around the hole on the casing in order to hold screw socket and electric bulb; two wire conductor for + and-connection to the power source; clamp.

5) SHORT DESCRFIPTION OF SKETCHES Additional sketches are included in the description of the invention in order to facilitate understanding of the invention and its purpose as well as to serve as explanation of certain parts.

Sketch 1. Appearance of the illuminated designation including all parts of the product Sketch number 1. representsthe appearance of the complete product including all its parts; front illuminated plate (1) with self adhesive tape (2); casing (3) with a rubber clasp (4); screw socket (5); electric bulb (6); two wore conductor (7) and clamps (8) Sketch 2. Appearance of the visible part of the front illuminated plate Sketch number 2. represents the appearance of the front illuminated plate (1) with printed country designations; self adhesive tape for fixing onto the window (2) Sketch 3. Appearance of the casing Sketch 3. represents the appearance of the casing (3) with a hole on the back side (A) made for installation of screw socket into the casing and a rubber clasp (4) serving as screw socket holder Sketch 4. Appearance of the screw socket with electrical bulb, cramps and two wire conductor Sketch number 4 contains appearance of the electrical bulb (1) with the screw socket; limitation (2), contacts (3), cramps (4), two wire conductor (5), cramps (6) 6) DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF LEAST ONE REALISATION OF THE INVENTION The enclosed sketch number 1. represents the complete product with all its elements. Sketch number 2. represents the front illuminated part with self adhesive tape for fixing the hole product onto the window. This part connected with casing (sketch 3). The screw socket with electric bulb is introduced into the casing (sketch 4) trough the rubber clamp. The next step requires connection of the conductor with clamps with contacts of the screw socket that remain outside the casing.

The other end of the conductor with cramps is connected to + and-pole by bringing the conductor to the power source (position lamps or registration plate light). The entire product is 2-3 mm removed from the window by self adhesive tape in the form of ellipse in order to prevent direct contact of the whole front plate with the window (temperature differences etc.). Replacement of the defected electric bulb is simple; the entire screw socket including the electric bulb is taken from the rubber clasp and the bulb is replaced by a new one without taking off whole product. Socket and bulb are then reintroduced into the casing. I would like to point out that the overall mass of the product is very small and it does not influence stability and firmness of product on the window.

7) APPLICATION OF THE INVENTION Effects of this invention are two fold: 1. When not « in motion)) (when not turned on and when the position lights not switched on) it serves as classical sticker with the same purpose i. e. as country designations that cannot be removed or influenced by climatic factors.

2. When switched on it serves as decorative and informative element with improved visibility effect from the distance or when driving in bad weather conditions (fog, rain, snow).
