Abstract:
Disclosed is an illuminating device wherein luminance nonuniformity is suppressed at low cost. A backlight device (12) is provided with: an LED (17); a chassis (14), which has a bottom plate (14a) disposed on the side opposite to the light outputting side with respect to the LED (17), and which houses the LED (17); and a first reflection sheet (22), which has the rectangular bottom portion (24) disposed along the bottom plate (14a), and two rising portions (25, 26) that rise toward the light outputting side from the two adjacent sides of the bottom portion (24), with a joint line (J) formed between the adjacent side ends (25a, 26a), and which reflects light. On the side end (25a) of a first rising portion (25) out of the rising portions (25, 26), a facing portion (28) is formed, said facing portion being disposed in the direction from the bottom portion (24) toward the first rising portion (25) (outside of the Y axis direction) with respect to the side end (26a) of a second rising portion (26). The first rising portion (25) protrudes toward the light outputting side with the facing portion (28).
