Abstract:
A backlight device (12) comprises: a light guide plate (16), at least one end face whereof is a light entry face (16b) and one plate face is a light exit face (16a); first LEDs (17A) which face a first light entry face (16bA) which is configured of a first end face of the light guide plate (16); second LEDs (17B) which are light sources which face a second light entry face (16bB) which is configured of a second end face which is the end face on the opposite side of the light guide plate (16) from the first end face thereof, and are positioned such that a distance (B) to the second light entry face (16bB) is relatively greater than a distance (A) between the first LEDs (17A) and the first light entry face (16bA); and positioning units (34) which position the light guide plate (16) with respect to the first LEDs (17A) and the second LEDs (17B) for a direction in which the first LEDs (17A), the light guide plate (16), and the second LEDs (17B) are aligned, and which are positioned such that a distance (D) to the second light entry face (16bB) is relatively greater than a distance (C) to the first light entry face (16bA).
