Provided is an illumination device (100) provided with: a light-emission unit (1) having an emission end (1a) from which illumination light is emitted; an optical member (2) which is disposed along a circle having a prescribed axis at the centre thereof, and which emits, from a surface thereof, the illumination light that has entered from the emission end (1a); and a reflective layer (3) which is provided abutting a surface of the optical member (2) at an inner side in a radial direction, and which reflects the illumination light outwards in the radial direction. The optical member (2) is provided with: a light guide layer (4) into which the illumination light from the emission end (1a) enters, and which guides the illumination light; and a diffusion layer (5) which is positioned further towards one end side in a direction along the prescribed axis than the light guide layer (4), and further towards an outer side in the radial direction than the light guide layer (4), and which guides and diffuses the illumination light that has entered from the light guide layer (4).
