Abstract:
[Problem] The present invention addresses the problem of providing a high-durability illumination device in which a wavelength conversion sheet is used, the illumination device being used in a liquid crystal display or the like. The problem is solved by: the illumination device having a point-light source, a wavelength conversion sheet, and a light-amount-reducing member positioned between the point-light source and a wavelength conversion layer; the light-amount reducing member reducing the peak luminance of light irradiated from the point-light source by 10-80% over the light incidence surface of the wavelength conversion sheet, and setting the absorption rate of light having a wavelength of 450 mm measured using an integrating sphere to be 5% or less.
