Provided is a technique that makes it possible to accurately report on bed leaving by a person being watched. An image analysis device according to one aspect of the present invention is provided with: an image acquisition unit for acquiring a photographic image that includes depth data indicating the depth of individual pixels; a foreground extraction unit for extracting the foreground region of the photographic image; a bed-leaving detection unit for referring to the depth of the pixels included in the foreground region, and detecting bed leaving by a watched subject on the basis of the foreground region shown on the bed moving to a position set apart from the bed by a prescribed distance or more; a bed-entry detection unit for detecting entry into bed of the watched subject, on the basis of the foreground region shown outside the bed moving over the bed, after the watched subject was detected to have left the bed; and an alerting unit for issuing an alert to communicate that the watched subject has left the bed for a fixed period of time or more, when the time elapsed since the watched subject was detected to have left the bed has exceeded a fixed amount of time before the watched subject was detected to have entered the bed.
