This image capture element comprises: a photoelectric conversion unit that photoelectrically converts light to generate charges; a holding unit that holds the charges generated by the photoelectric conversion unit; an accumulating unit that accumulates the charges generated by the photoelectric conversion unit; a first transfer path for transferring the charges generated by the photoelectric conversion unit to the accumulating unit; and a second transfer path for transferring the charges generated by the photoelectric conversion unit to the accumulating unit via the holding unit.
