Abstract:
A pupil split optical system in this image capturing device has: a first pupil that transmits light in a first wavelength band; and a second pupil that transmits light in a second wavelength band different from the first wavelength band. An image capturing element captures an image of light transmitted through the pupil split optical system and a first color filter having a first transmittance characteristic, and captures an image of light transmitted through the pupil split optical system and a second color filter having a second transmittance characteristic partially overlapping the first transmittance characteristic, and thereby outputs a captured image. A correction unit corrects, with respect to the captured image, a value based on a component in which the first transmittance characteristic and the second transmittance characteristic overlap, and generates a monochromatic corrected image and a corrected image. A display unit displays the monochromatic corrected image, or, displays the monochromatic corrected image that is generated by processing the corrected image.
