Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide a device and a method for carrying out signal conversion processing according to ambient light by content, scene, or frame to generate an output image. An image display control device includes a data processing unit for controlling an image signal output to a display unit. The data processing unit runs a display control application corresponding to a piece of content to be displayed on the display unit and generates an output image signal. The data processing unit receives a sensor detection signal from a sensor that acquires ambient light information for the surroundings of the display unit, and generates an output image signal by signal conversion processing wherein different signal conversion algorithms are applied, in accordance with the sensor detection signal, to the content-original input image signals by content, scene constituting the content, or frame.
