Abstract:

An objective of the present invention is, when fabricating an image display device by layering an image display member and a light transmissible cover member which is positioned upon the surface side thereof with a cured resin layer of a photo-curable resin composition interposed therebetween, to allow sufficient photo-curing of the light curable resin composition between a light shield layer and the image display member without the photo-curable resin composition being eliminated therebetween and the negation of the unevenness between the light shield layer and the light transmissible cover member, as well as to allow fabricating the image display device with only a photopolymerization process. To solve this objective, in an image display device fabrication method, a liquid photo-curable resin composition is coated on either a surface of a light transmissible cover member (2), which includes a light shield layer (1), or the surface of a light display member (6), said coating being thicker than the thickness of the light shield layer. Thereafter, the coating is illuminated in this state with ultraviolet light and partially cured, forming a partially cured resin layer. Next, the image display member and the light transmissible cover member are layered with the partially cured resin layer interposed therebetween, and thereafter illuminated with ultraviolet light, completing the curing and forming a light transmissible cured resin layer (7).
