Abstract:
In order to display a wide-angle image in a suitable manner on a screen having a fixed display field angle while tracking the movement of a user's head, a correction process is performed for a gyro sensor and an acceleration sensor used in the detection of the movement of the user's head, and the measurement result for the orientation is corrected on the basis of the output values from each sensor, thereby enabling the movement of the user's head to be detected more accurately and enabling a wide-angle image which faithfully tracks the movement of the user's head to be observed. Furthermore, when an image of a display field angle is extracted from a panoramic image or a fish-eye image, corrections such as the removal of distortion are performed, thereby providing a natural wide-angle image.
