Abstract:
This image display device is provided with a liquid crystal display panel and a plurality of light-source substrates (20) for illuminating the liquid crystal display panel from the back surface thereof. Each of the light-source substrates (20) has: signal input connectors (26a, 26b) that receive a control signal; a plurality of light-emitting diodes, each disposed corresponding to a different region of the liquid crystal display panel; a driver element (23) that drives each of the light-emitting diodes so as to emit light at a luminance corresponding to the brightness inside the corresponding region of an image in accordance with the control signal; and signal output connectors (27a, 27b) that through-output the control signal. Among the light-source substrates (20), a signal output connector of a first light-source substrate is electrically connected to a signal input connector of a second light-source substrate.
