Provided is a video display device with which an improvement in contrast resulting from local dimming can be obtained. The video display device is provided with: a display panel that displays a video on the basis of an inputted video signal; a light-source substrate that has a plurality of light sources on the main surface on the front surface side, and shines the light emitted by the light sources toward the back surface side of the display panel; a reflective sheet, in which a hollow partition, which separates any two neighboring light sources among the light sources, is formed, said reflective sheet being disposed on the main surface of the light-source substrate; an optical member that is disposed between the display panel and the light-source substrate, and homogenizes the luminance distribution of the light shined by the light-source substrate; and a support member that supports the optical member and is disposed between the light-source substrate and the optical member. The reflective sheet is provided with: an intersection portion, where a partition formed along a first direction and a partition formed along a second direction crossing the first direction intersect; and a linear portion formed parallel to the first direction or the second direction. The support member is disposed in a recess formed in the linear portion.
