Abstract:
This image display device comprises: a vehicle exterior camera that images scenery surrounding a vehicle; a viewpoint detection unit that detects the location of a viewpoint of a driver in a driver's seat of the vehicle, and outputs viewpoint location information indicating the location of the detected viewpoint; a first image processing unit that generates left eye image data for a range corresponding to a blocking section on the basis of image data for the range corresponding to the blocking section, said blocking section blocking the field of view when looking out of the vehicle from the viewpoint indicated by the viewpoint location information; a second image processing unit that generates image data for the range corresponding to the blocking section on the basis of right eye image data for the range corresponding to the blocking section; and a display device that is provided to the vehicle and displays, on the blocking section, a disparity image including a first image and a second image. For a specific blocking section within the blocking section, second image data is monochrome uniform display data.
