Abstract:
An optical fiber cutter (1), which is for cutting off a part of an optical fiber, comprises a freely openable and closable clamp (20) for holding an optical fiber, and a freely movable blade (50) for cutting into the optical fiber held by the clamp (20). The optical fiber cutter (1) is further provided with a scrap collection mechanism (60) for collecting scraps of the optical fiber that have been cut off. The scrap collection mechanism (60) comprises a case (61) in which the scraps are to be accommodated, and a lid (63) that opens/closes with respect to the case (61) in conjunction with the action of opening/closing the clamp (20).
