Abstract:
Provided are an image formation device, and a method for manufacturing printed matter, with which it is possible to respond to user requirements for both high-quality printing and high-productivity printing. An image formation device comprising: a conveying mechanism that conveys a recording medium; an application device that applies a preprocessing fluid to the recording medium; an inkjet head; and a processor, wherein, when the recording medium is conveyed at a first conveying speed and ink is discharged from the inkjet head, thereby forming an image on the recording medium, the processor applies the preprocessing fluid with the application device, and when the recording medium is conveyed at a second conveying speed that is faster than the first conveying speed and an image is formed on the recording medium, the processor performs a control so as not to apply the preprocessing fluid with the application device.
