Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an image processing apparatus and an image processing method for allowing an image capturing method to be artificially changed by use of a depth image. On the basis of both a parameter value determined on the basis of a feature of an input image and a depth image representative of the position in the depth direction of a subject of the input image, an artificial image generation unit generates, from the input image, as an artificial captured image, a prediction value of a captured image obtained by capturing the image of the subject by use of a predetermined image capturing method. The present disclosure can be applied, for example, to an image processing apparatus or the like that generates, from an input image, an artificial captured image that is a prediction value of a captured image obtained by capturing the image of a subject by use of a predetermined image capturing method.
