Abstract:
This technique relates to a reception apparatus, a reception method, a transmission apparatus and a transmission method for enabling suppression of increase of the data size of signaling information to be transported via broadcast. Provided is a reception apparatus comprising a control unit that controls the operations of several units for acquiring at least one of a broadcast component and a communication component on the basis of either first signaling information, which is information for managing only the broadcast component to be transported via the broadcast waves of a digital broadcast using an IP transport system and which is to be transported via the broadcast waves of the digital broadcast, or second signaling information, which is information for managing at least one of the broadcast component and the communication component to be transported via a communication and which is to be transported via the communication. This technique can be applied, for example, to a television receiver.
