Abstract:
Disclosed are an image processing device, method and program capable of improving compression efficiency. With respect to a brightness block (AY) of 4 x 4 pixels, a template region (BY) which is configured from coded pixels and which is adjacent to the brightness block (AY) is used to perform the motion prediction and compensation of a brightness signal, thereby obtaining motion vector information (VY).  A color-difference intra-TP motion prediction/compensation section uses a template region (BC) which is configured from coded pixels and which is adjacent to a color difference block (AC) of 2 x 2 pixels to perform the motion prediction of color-difference signals (Cb) and (Cr) with respect to the color difference block (AC) with a surrounding range (E) centered on motion vector information (VY’) generated by scaling the motion vector information (VY) as a search range.  The image processing device and method, and the program can be applied to, for example, an image coding device for coding an image in the H.264/AVC standard.
