Abstract:
The present invention pertains to an image processing device, an image processing method, and a program that are capable of making a main imaging subject in an image more prominent. A tone curve adjustment unit adjusts the tone curve for an area for which input image signals will be input, and supplies tone curve-adjusted image signals to a local level detection unit. The local level detection unit finds the local level. A contrast adjustment unit performs adaptive contrast enhancement in accordance with the local level from the local level detection unit. The present invention is applicable, for example, to an image processing device that enhances a prescribed section of an image, using tone curve adjustment and adaptive contrast enhancement.
