Abstract:
 Provided are an image processing device, method, and program for endoscopic images with which there is a high degree of freedom in the assigning of colors corresponding to the form-related features of a structure. A structure region image (84, 86) is generated in which at least one structure region is extracted from an image signal obtained by capturing an image of an observation target within the body. The form-related feature values of the structure region are calculated on the basis of the structure region image, and colors corresponding to the feature values are assigned to the structure region. A reduced original image (83) is generated in which processing for reducing at least one of color and contrast is applied to an original image (82) in which the observation target is rendered in color, and a synthesized image (92, 93) is generated by superimposing the reduced original image (83) and the structure region image (84, 86) to which colors were assigned.
