Abstract:
An image processing device (1) equipped with an image acquisition unit (7) and a determination unit (11). The image acquisition unit uses a camera to acquire a first image representing a region in a first relative location, and a second image representing a region in a second relative location located farther in the direction of travel of the vehicle than the first relative location. The determination unit compares the brightness, and/or the intensity of a prescribed color component for the first image, and for the second image, which was acquired earlier than the first image and represents a region overlapping the first image, thereby determining whether a specific region in which the luminance is higher than the surrounding area or in which the luminance is lower than the surrounding area exists in the first image.
