Abstract:
An image acquisition unit 341-1 acquires a polarized light image and a non-polarized light image showing the peripheral region of a moving body, such as the peripheral region of a vehicle. A determination information generation unit 342-1 uses the polarized light image acquired by the image acquisition unit 341-1 to generate analysis object determination information indicating a road surface or the like. An image analysis unit 344-1 uses an image of an image analysis region, which has been on the basis of the analysis object determination information generated by the determination information generation unit 342-1 with respect to the non-polarized light image acquired by the image acquisition unit 341-1, to make a determination regarding an object, such as an obstacle on the road surface. Thus, it is possible to efficiently determine the existence of an object from a non-polarized light image of the peripheral region of a moving body.
