Abstract:
The present invention relates to an image processing device and a method that are capable of further improving coding efficiency. This image processing device comprises a prediction unit that determines whether or not bilateral matching on the basis of reference images having different times can be used when deriving a block motion vector by block matching using reference images, when using reference images and generating a predicted image from a block-to-be-coded. The present invention can be applied, for example, to an image coding device or an image decoding device.
