Abstract:
The present invention pertains to an image processing device and method whereby motion information can be obtained more rapidly. The image processing device comprises a prediction unit that derives block motion vectors by using a reference image having a different time to an image including the block to be processed, on the basis of a prescribed upper limit number of motion vector candidates among a plurality of motion vector candidates. The present invention can be applied, for example, to an image coding device or an image decoding device.
