Abstract:
A padding processing unit 21 uses an input image that is a two-dimensional image in which a plurality of fish-eye images constituting a predetermined azimuth range are arranged, and on the basis of the continuity of the plurality of fish-eye images, replaces an image at a position used for prediction processing outside the effective region of a fish-eye image with an image at a corresponding position within the effective region of another fish-eye image, thereby reducing a prediction error. On the basis of fish-eye image information indicating, with respect to each fish-eye image, the center position, fish-eye radius, state of inversion or rotation in the two-dimensional image of the fish-eye image, the padding processing unit 21 calculates the position within the effective region of the other fish-eye image, which corresponds to the position outside the effective region. A lossless coding unit 26 includes the fish-eye image information in a coded stream of the two-dimensional image. Consequently, the coding efficiency of the two dimensional image in which the plurality of fish-eye images constituting the predetermined azimuth range are arranged can be improved.
