Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to an image processing device and an image processing method that allow suppression of an increase in cost for adaptive orthogonal transform. A bit stream is decoded, then coefficient data resulting from orthogonal transform of image predictive residues is generated, and inverse orthogonal transform corresponding to a transformation type different from the transformation type of the base transformation matrix is applied to the generated coefficient data using a base transformation matrix and a sparse matrix corresponding to the base transformation matrix. This disclosure can be applied to, for example, an image-processing device, an image-encoding device, or an image-decoding device.
