Abstract:

An image processing device comprises: an image acquisition unit which acquires a photographic image wherein a camera photographs and outputs outside a vehicle; a sun determination unit which computes the location of the sun, including at least the height of the sun, and determines that the height of the sun is at or below a prescribed height; an opacity detection unit which detects that a lens surface of the camera is opaque; a vehicle detection unit which detects other vehicles other than the host vehicle on the basis of image information of a first image region of the photographed image; and a control unit which, at least if it is detected by the opacity detection unit that the first image region is opaque, when the sun determination unit determines that the height of the sun is at or below the prescribed height, suppresses the detection of the other vehicles by the vehicle detection unit.
