An image processing method and apparatus comprises: obtaining a preview image to be processed; identifying the scene of the preview image; the scene comprises a background category and a foreground target; when the foreground target is a person, detecting the facial expression information of the person; and according to the facial expression information and the background category, adjusting the feature parameters of a background image in the preview image.
