Provided are an image processing method, an image processing device and a program capable of generating an image which makes it easy to confirm visually, in a brightfield image, the manifestation of a biological material on the basis of the emission of light from a fluorescent substance. This image processing method is characterized in that it comprises: an input step of inputting a brightfield image representing the shape of a cell in a specimen, and a fluorescence image representing the manifestation of specific biological material in the same region of the specimen using fluorescent bright spots; a bright spot extracting step of extracting the regions of the fluorescent bright spots in the fluorescence image; and a composite image generating step of generating a composite image in which the brightfield image and the fluorescence image, before or after extraction of the fluorescent bright spots, are overlaid on one another.
