Provided is an image-recording device, comprising: conveying means (11a, 12, 13, 21, 31, 32) for conveying a recording medium (P) supplied from a recording-medium-stacking unit (11); a recording means (231) for recording an image onto a recording medium (P) conveyed by the conveying means; a recording control means (41) for prompting the recording means (231) to record an image on the basis of an image-recording command; a recording medium determination means (41) for determining whether or not a current class that indicates the class of recording medium (P) being conveyed by the conveying means when an image-recording command was canceled during execution, and a subsequent class that indicates the class of recording medium (P) specified in a subsequent image-recording command, are the same; and a conveying control means (41) by which, when the recording medium determination means (41) determines that the current class and the subsequent class are the same, at least some of recording media (P) which are in a preparatory recording state having been supplied from the recording-medium-stacking unit (11) but not yet having an image recorded thereon by the recording means (231) are maintained in the preparatory recording state by the conveying means.
