Abstract:
An image synthesis and display apparatus includes a single-buffer-structure layer where image information is updated and a double-buffer-structure layer which is further up than the single-buffer-structure layer and serves as a cover layer. The image synthesis and display apparatus: superimposes and draws the next images to be displayed in the cover layer and a layer lower than the cover layer to a write buffer for the cover layer in order from the lowermost layer, and sets opacity for the region where the image was drawn; switches the buffers in the cover layer so that an image stored in the buffer with an opacity setting transitions to the condition for use in image synthesis; under this condition, draws the image in the layer where the image information was updated in the buffer for the layer; and switches the buffers for the cover layer after drawing is complete, so that the image stored in a new display buffer for the cover layer transitions to the condition for use in image synthesis.
