Abstract:
After a user designates, on a microscope observation image of a sample, a region of interest in a plurality of groups to be analyzed for differences, an m/z candidate retrieval unit (32) retrieves m/z candidates for which there are presumed to be differences on the basis of collected mass spectrum data. An intensity histogram creation unit (33) creates and displays, for each m/z candidate, graphs showing the frequency distributions of peak intensities at measurement points included in the region of interest in each group. If the graphs exhibit multicrestedness, because the data distributions are not suited to statistical hypothesis testing, an intensity range determination unit (34) limits the intensity range in accordance with user instruction, and an ROI correction unit (35) corrects the ROI such that the same only includes measurement points having peak intensities included in the limited intensity range. A testing unit (36) carries out statistical hypothesis testing using data corresponding to the corrected ROI. As a result, highly reliable analysis for differences can be carried out even if a user does not set an appropriate starting region of interest.
