Abstract:
A monitor camera (1), i.e., an imaging device, is provided with an imaging element (2);
an exposure adjusting section (6) for adjusting the exposure quantity of the
imaging element (2); a luminance/color difference generating section (8) for
generating luminance/color difference data from an image signal obtained by
the imaging element (2); and a mode switching section (15) for switching between image
acquiring mode and standby mode. In the image acquiring mode, the exposure quantity
is adjusted and the luminance/color difference data is generated, and in the
standby mode, the exposure quantity is adjusted and generation of luminance/color difference
data is stopped. Thus, power consumption is reduced, and stable image data can
be acquired immediately when image data is required.
