Abstract:
This imaging device includes: a pixel array unit in which a plurality of pixels are arrayed in a two-dimensional matrix shape; and a drive unit that reads pixel information by scanning, for each of rows, the pixels of the pixel array unit. The pixel array unit has: a rectangular imaging area in which pixels having photoelectric conversion portions are arranged and on which light is incident; a first light-shielding area where pixels having photoelectric conversion portions are arranged and light is shielded; and a second light-shielding area where pixels without the photoelectric conversion portions are arranged and which is shielded from light. The first light-shielding area and the second light-shielding area are arranged to be along a side that extends in the column direction of the imaging area.
