Abstract:
An imaging element comprising: a first circuit layer having a first semiconductor substrate having a photoelectric conversion unit that photoelectrically converts incident light and generates a charge and a first wiring layer having wiring that reads a signal on the basis of the charge generated by the photoelectric conversion unit; a second circuit layer having a second wiring layer having wiring connected to the wiring in the first wiring layer and a second semiconductor substrate having a through electrode connected to the wiring in the second wiring layer; a third circuit layer having a third semiconductor substrate having a through electrode connected to the through electrode in the second circuit layer and a third wiring layer having wiring connected to the through electrode in the third semiconductor substrate; and a fourth circuit layer having a fourth wiring layer having wiring connected to the wiring in the third wiring layer and a fourth semiconductor substrate connected to the wiring in the fourth wiring layer. The first circuit layer, the second circuit layer, the third circuit layer, and the fourth circuit layer are provided, in order, from the light incidence side.
