An improved flat series excited motor, comprising a stator assembly, a rotor assembly, a motor front support (18), and a motor rear support (7). The stator assembly is provided with a stator iron core (3), the outer diameter d1 of the stator iron core (3) is 100-200 mm, the thickness d2 of the stator iron core (3) is 5-20 mm, and the inner diameter d3 of the stator iron core (3) is 60-110 mm; the rotor assembly comprises a rotor iron core (4), a commutator (5), and an electric brush mounting plate (6), multiple electric brushes are mounted on the electric brush mounting plate (6), the outer diameter d5 of the rotor iron core (4) is 40-150 mm, the winding mode of each rotor enameled wire (9) and winding slots (40) is that the number of the winding slots (40) is 16, and the number that the rotor enameled wire (9) extends across the slots is four. By improving the stator assembly, the rotor assembly, and the mounting structures of the stator assembly and the rotor assembly, the height of the series excited motor is reduced to a maximum extent, and when all parts of the series excited motor are assembled, the distance between the motor front support (18) and the motor rear support (7) is smaller than or equal to 66 mm.
