Abstract:
An in-wheel motor drive device 21 uses a parallel shaft gear reducer 30, where each gear is constituted by a helical gear, in a reducer unit B that reduces rotation of an electric motor unit A and outputs the reduced rotation to a wheel bearing unit C. Viewed from an axial direction, a rotation angle obtained by taking a straight line P, which connects an axial center O2 of an intermediate gear shaft 36 with an axial center O3 of an output gear shaft 37, and rotating the straight line P about the axial center O2 of the intermediate gear shaft 36 in a direction of rotation of the intermediate gear shaft 36 during forward power drive until the straight line P reaches a straight line Q, which connects the axial center O2 of the intermediate gear shaft 36 with an axial center O1 of an input gear shaft 35, is taken as an input shaft arrangement angle β. The input gear shaft 35, the intermediate gear shaft 36, and the output gear shaft 37 are arranged so that the input shaft arrangement angle β is from 270° to 360°.
