Abstract:
Provided are an indoor location method and an electronic device. The method is applied to the electronic device that supports a wireless local area network. The method can effectively reduce the power consumption overheads of the electronic device during a location process, and can improve the endurance ability of the electronic device. The method comprises: an electronic device scanning a wireless signal source around the electronic device, and acquiring first access point parameter information; then determining the similarity between the first access point parameter information and pre-stored historical access point parameter information, wherein a lower similarity indicates that the first access point parameter information is more similar to the historical access point parameter information; when the similarity is greater than a first threshold value, reporting the first access point parameter information to a location server; the location server determining, according to the first access point parameter information, position information of the electronic device; and finally, the electronic device receiving the position information sent by the location server.
